Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana
Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana
Trinity Episcopal Church is seeking a Curate (with the possibility of becoming Associate Rector) to work collaboratively with our Rector, Staff, and Community to serve our growing, prayerful, and dedicated downtown parish. Trinity is a vibrant, transitional sized parish with a commitment to Loving God and Loving our Neighbors. Trinity is entering its 180th year of ministry in Fort Wayne. Trinity is a community with a rich history that informs but does not define our future. We are in a season of discernment and visioning – as we explore where the Holy Spirit is calling us next. As a community we are excited about our future as we strive to be thehands and feet of Jes us in our neighborhood.
Throughout the year Trinity offers two masses on Sundays, as well as Morning Prayer and Mass during the week. We are blessed with a strong choral music program that offers Evensong and services of Lessons and Carols during the year. Seasonally, we have offered a Contemplative Eucharist, Daily Office Prayer Camp, and the Rosary. Our liturgies are broad to high church, we do have historic Anglo-Catholic roots that influence seasonal liturgies. We have strong ties with local non-profits and ecumenical ministries. This winter we are remodeling an apartment in our building that will be used as transitional housing.
The ministry of the Curate will have a special focus on Young Adults and Families – as well as Pastoral Care, but they will take part in all aspects of priestly ministry: preaching, teaching, administration of the Sacraments, and ministry in the wider church. The final role will be tailored to the gifts and passions of the Curate.
A successful candidate for Curate will be a transitional deacon (or soon to be ordained) or priest who has a deep and abiding love for Jesus and for all of God’s children. She or he will have a passion to grow and further develop their own discipleship and assist others in doing the same. The Curate can expect a collegial and supportive work environment, intentional mentoring, and the opportunity to partner with the Rector, Staff, and Lay Leadership to dream and imagine about all that the future of Trinity Church can be.
This position is full time; salary will be in accordance with our diocesan guidelines (EDNIN Compensation Guidelines). Full benefits are available for the Curate and any dependents.
Fort Wayne is consistently rated one of the top cities to raise a family. The Children’s Zoo, Ft. Wayne Trail System, Tincaps Baseball Stadium, Local Theatre, and Riverfront are second to none.
