Description
Additional comments re: compensation, benefits and housing.
Sizeable, historic but well-maintained rectory next to parish right on Skaneatlas Lake in the heart of the town. Parish has done a great job of upkeep and modernizing the rectory.
Liturgical style and practice
Intentionally diverse offerings of worship styles across the offerings: from spoken Rite 1 to contemporary band music for Rite 2, and also a formal broad church and choir style Rite II
Strengths
St. James has a plethora of ministries, spanning the gamut from social justice work to music ministries, to outreach efforts. They are a thoughtful, dynamic and strong congregation that has benefited from excellent clergy and lay leadership with stable financial resources for many years.
Challenges
Because of their reputation for excellence, the congregation holds themselves to a high standard, and this sometimes brings with it some unrealistic expectations around perfectionism. A priest able to bring some calm into the system would be a great asset.
