Description

Strengths

Trinity is growing and deeply involved in the community and diocese. They are very socially minded and justice driven. They have dynamic clergy and lay leadership. They are spiritually and financially healthy.
They run a summer camp for neighborhood children which brings 300 children into the church and they run one of the most active feeding ministries of any church of any denomination in the city of St. Louis. They were just recognized as being one of the first churches in the country to respond to to the AIDS crisis.
They are progressive, traditional, committed. Contract for the Associate to the Rector will be for 3-5 years with a heavy emphasis on developing neighborhood programs for children, youth and their parents.

Challenges

Trinity is an urban parish with all of the usual urban issues. High urban poverty and homelessness rate in the immediate area of the church.

Comments

This position needs an energetic, activist-minded priest, who will either have or be willing to learn community organizing skills. This is an anglo-catholic parish with smells-bells-chanting. Must be able to work collaboratively and creatively and be self-initiating. Women and People of Color are especially encouraged to apply
