Trinity Episcopal Church feels called to be a welcoming and affirming community. We are a church Family carrying out our mission through the ministry of all members under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in response to God’s love.
As members of the Body of Christ, we follow God’s call and welcome all.
As we approach our bicentennial, our next (full time/part time) rector will partner with us to seek to follow God’s call and welcome all; a leader who has a compassionate, discreet, approachable presence. Pastoral visits are important to us. The rector should challenge us to address the needs of our community and the world with intelligent and relevant sermons. We desire someone who can energize our current outreach programs and inspire us to develop new ones. He or she should develop a connection with the greater Lynchburg community so Trinity’s presence can have a positive impact on the place we live, work and love our families and friends. The rector should be an enthusiastic, self-starting leader; a person who will assist us in welcoming more people into the congregation. Our next rector should be able to implement change gently, since we know change is a necessary part of growth. We seek someone who can balance the “old school” feel with a dash of “new school” adventure. We seek a rector willing to share his or her gifts to enhance the Trinity community that we love.
Rising to meet the call of God to meet Christ in 21st century America within and beyond our church walls.
