St. Peter's is a loyal, faithful, and welcoming parish who opens our doors in hopes that all will feel included and welcome. We are effective in our outreach activities and feel spiritually alive when participating in acts of giving. St. Peter's has a long history partnering with our Hispanic neighbors and have formed a strong bond with this community. We have beautiful buildings and grounds are grateful to be able to share this space with others, particularly All Saints Hall, which is the regular meeting place for a local Alcoholics Anonymous group.

Our largest challenge is lack of growth, especially regarding young families. Children's programming is minimal and we currently have no programming for teens. We are in the difficult place of not having enough youth for strong programming which is not helpful in attracting young families. Our second greatest challenge is that of a large, aging physical plant that requires continuous maintenance and repair. We budget accordingly for this and perform preventative maintenance when possible. Sustainability, especially in light of minimal growth, will always be of concern. Thirdly, we will soon be losing grant funding for the priest who leads our Hispanic congregation. This will effect a large community of devoted worshipers who have become accustomed to attending services in their native language.

Washington, NC is a beautiful, historic, water front community in Eastern North Carolina. Check it out here:
