Description
Strengths
St. Paul's is a scrappy down town church in a small city in the midwest. A congregation that was once known only for wonderful music and beautiful liturgy, has opened its building and its heart to the city around them. Beginning with a campaign to having Meals on Wheels cook out of St. Paul's Kitchen, to entering into conversation with neighboring congregations about racism and poverty.
Challenges
St. Paul's can be a spirited place and sometimes individual agendas can clash, causing friction between members, that is not always lived out in a wholesome Christian manor. And like many churches evangelism does not come naturally and talking about money can be awkward.
