Comments

“It is the desire of the parish to call a priest to St. Mark’s who will provide pastoral care to our members, help our youth programs remain strong, challenge us to grow as Christians and guide us to serve the needs of the world at large. When asked to reflect on their reasons for joining St. Mark’s, our parishioners overwhelmingly recounted personal experiences of St. Mark’s as a welcoming place for all to worship God. Members are known to be very friendly and accepting of people from diverse backgrounds. We like to have fun, and also be challenged and inspired to integrate scripture into our daily lives. St. Mark’s in the words of one, “is a good place to be!” and a “haven for love, hope and fellowship and the renewal of the soul.” In the wake of this global pandemic, we need a strong leader who can engage with us remotely and has a knowledge of technology as a medium for communication until we can safely worship together. We hope to find a priest who will continue our adult bible study, offer meaningful instruction before confirmation and the sacraments, support our music program and of course, nurture our children and young families. Our parishioners value a preacher who is able to relate the gospel to our everyday life, while allowing for questioning and conversation. We value the importance of scripture, tradition, and reason.”
