Grace Church has a strong outreach component, an active anti-racism task force, and is growing in terms  of ministry, outreach, attendance and new members. Madison is a vibrant and growing city.  The parish has a strong music program and stable finances.

Challenges include reaching out to new downtown residents and imagining new ministry and identity after the relocation of a homeless shelter from the parish property in 2020.  Also, re-building community in a dispersed congregation following pandemic is one of our challenges.

From the Transition Officer, The Rev. Canon Scott Leannah: This parish is located very near the state Capitol, in the heart of Madison.  Madison is a growing, diverse university city and Grace is a growing, diverse congregation.  Our diocese has a close, collegial clergy community and is in many ways experiencing a time of new life. The Madison-area clergy work collaboratively together, and the University of Wisconsin Episcopal Campus Ministry, St. Francis House, recently hired a new Chaplain/Young Adult Missioner. Good things are happening!
