The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland is seeking a qualified, vibrant and entrepreneurial fundraising professional who will serve in an integral role reporting to the Canon to the Ordinary for Administration and Mission.  Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting, developing and implementing robust fundraising initiatives that will reflect, communicate, and reinforce the values and mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.

Challenges

The Director of Development will be responsible for formulating comprehensive and innovative strategies that will deepen and sustain EDOM’s fundraising and development initiatives that support congregations, the Bishop’s Annual Ministries Appeal (BAMA), the Sutton Scholars High School Enrichment Program (SSHSEP), the Claggett Camp and Conference Center, affiliated agencies and ministry initiatives.  This position requires operating in an often fast-paced environment that supports ministry needs and requires the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects.  We seek someone who has the ability to exercise good judgement in complex situations, who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, has an advanced skill level in donor relations, has exceptional organizational skills and above all, someone who has the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities is critical.
