The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer is the only African American Episcopal
parish in Greensboro, NC.

We are a  loving congregation whose core mission includes
uplifting the kingdom of God by spreading the gospel, increasing our spirituality, and
assisting in the creation of a peaceful and harmonious world. Our strongest desire is to
be faithful stewards through our thoughts, words, and deeds, while also deepening our
faith—both as individuals and as a congregation.

We are seeking a Priest-in-Charge (a three-year appointment and 24-month review
period), one who may be interested in possibly growing with us into a permanent
Rector; one who can keep a clear and tranquil head in the middle of our parish’s
growth and development processes. We are also praying for a leader who is socially
adept, with an eye to the future and the experience to grow our parish and challenge
us to use our talents to achieve the goals expressed by the parish:

• To promote and encourage church growth and development with the
surrounding Triad community and NC A & T University and Bennet College.
• To encourage a deeper relationship with God through preaching, teaching, and
liturgy.
• To assist and support Christian education and formation.
• To nurture our faith and minister to our emotional and spiritual needs so that
we can achieve all that God has called us to do.
Our congregation is full of highly educated and energetic people. We have a lot of
ideas and perspectives, and we seek a Priest-in-Charge who is committed to guiding
us on our journey – someone who is a self-confident, inspired, and inspiring teacher,
preacher, advisor, and innovator. The Church of the Redeemer is a financially sound,
diverse, and engaging parish with a long legacy of community outreach while
attentive to the needs of our own parishioners. We prayerfully await a new leader who
will embrace us and lead us on our future journey!
