Strengths

Mission-minded congregation with a heart facing the neighborhood; a parish community willing to try new things; spiritually vibrant and hungry; life-long learning environment; vibrant youth and family ministries; dynamic music ministry with active chorister program; healthy lay leadership; solid parish preschool with Reggio approach.

Challenges

Significant demographic changes in the past 10 years means that the congregation is always in flux; lots of new folks, many retirees leaving. In some ways that parish is “too big to be small and too small to be big” both systemically and financially. Though we have a dedicated and creative staff, in many ways we are understaffed to support the growing ministries in our parish.  We live in a busy mobile metro NY community that is over scheduled, stressed and spiritually hungry.
