Strengths
Christ Church in Hornell, NY is located approximately half-way between Rochester and Corning. The parish is very active in the local community, providing both a food pantry and a thrift shop. The parish is also proximate to Alfred University, providing opportunity for connection to the college for ministry and community engagement.
Challenges
Christ Church benefited from the ministry of a gifted retired priest, whose leadership was traditional in style and engaged on all levels. The parish has an opportunity grow it's own sense of mission and calling, in order to embrace lay leadership and pursue their future direction.
Comments
The parish has been without a priest for about a year. They have excelled with Morning Prayer and adapted to streaming worship during the time of lockdown. They are flexible and open to where the Spirit is taking them in the future.
