Two highly "small but mighty" congregations near Alfred University. Both parishes have dedicated outreach ministries. One hosts the local food cupboard, while the other has the local thrift shop. The parish in Savona provides a lovely three-bedroom home, which is attached to the church.
Church of the Good Shepherd has only the housing to offer. They have been without a priest for over two years. They have partnered in the past, and are willing to do so again. Christ Church Hornell had a strong rector in the past, and are working now to grow into their lay empowerment.
This could be a wonderful position for someone who is retired, as it is only 3/4 time. Both parishes are very open to new models of ministry and willing to work with someone who wants to explore and grow with them. They are in the midst of beautiful farm and lake country, and are host to four seasons for outdoor activities. Rochester and Corning are within a 2-hour drive.
