We have a strong sense of community, love and acceptance here at Christ Church. We tote the motto All Are Welcome and when newcomers enter through our doors they feel it. Those new to our community often speak of how welcomed they felt when they visited and it encouraged them to join us. In addition, our location in the village allows us to be visible. Our small campus is often bustling with activity from the Thrift Shop, the Saturday Breakfast, AA or other events that we hold. Those outside the church community know us by name because of the work that we do and the love and acceptance we show others through our actions.
The challenges we face today at Christ Church are no different from those that many other churches are currently facing. COVID-19 has caused financial hardship. Each year we set and meet our budget. A healthy number of parishioners pledge during our stewardship campaign but it is always necessary to hold multiple fundraisers to ensure we meet the budget. This year we were hit especially hard by COVID-19 which eliminated our ability to fundraise through our traditional outlets. The Vestry is working hard to creatively raise funds and parishioners are increasing their pledges or are offering additional monies to offset our shortfall.
