Transfiguration is a financially stable, healthy congregation. Lay leadership has worked collaboratively with interim rector, exploring new forms of liturgy and examining identity and values. They are clear about who they are and what they seek in their next rector.
The church has an on-site day care/preschool that is both part of their outreach to the wider community, and a large contributor to the financial health of the congregation.
Please see the Rector Search page of their website for more information: http://transfigpalos.org/rector-search/
Transfiguration seeks a rector who can: focus with them on growth and retention of new members, help members identify their gifts and ways to use them, and help expand adult education.
The next rector should have strong administrative skills due to the close working relationship with the on-site daycare/preschool.
Transfiguration's last rector was a caring and healing presence for them. Though surprised and disappointed at his departure, they have had a good interim rector, have worked through the normal grief, and are ready to welcome their next rector.
Palos Park is a more affluent suburban community located 28 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, easily accessed by Metra train.
