St. Timothy's is a Gothic style church in Philadelphia's Roxborough/Manayunk section. Our strengths include our strong traditions of hospitality and fellowship, community outreach programs, and traditional liturgical and musical traditions. Parishioners value fellowship, socializing together, and supporting each other pastorally. Our historic relationship with Roxborough Hospital offers opportunities for pastoral outreach.
We have a generous endowment, and have worked to monetize our space and use good management to maintain a sustainable draw.
Like many churches today, St. Timothy's faces the challenge of being a parish dealing with the changing norms and secularization of 21st century society. We seek a rector who can help us thoughtfully consider the demographics of our surrounding community, to encourage growth and outreach. We look to develop Christian formation across all age levels.
We seek transparent leadership that encourages lay leadership and involvement while providing sustained attention to both new and existing ministries. We seek a rector who can value and invigorate traditional liturgies. It wouldn’t hurt if our next rector could carry a tune, and walk on water.
