Strengths

Our congregation is broad and vibrant. We are prayerful about our next addition to the clergy staff, and confident, too. We have much to offer and, of course, much to do and to be.

Challenges

This position has been open for a time as we prayerful search for someone to join the busy ministry of Akron Ohio.

Comments

We seek to add someone to our clergy team who will make a significant and dynamic addition to our staff, sharing with the Rector in the general duties of preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and worship, and taking part in new initiatives to further our mission.

The ideal candidate, whether a seasoned priest or recently ordained, will be relationally mature, rooted in the gospel, faithful and disciplined in prayers, and be eager and articulate in promoting a rich, full and Christ-focused expression of the faith. Organizational skills, high energy levels, and the ability to take wise initiatives are required for this position. Above all, a love for people and an eagerness to meet and engage with others is essential.

Candidates will be considered, by the Rector and an advisory group, in light of their particular gifts and experience in the context of our needs and plans. We have the flexibility to deploy someone with an emphasis on mission and outreach, our primary need, or to make another area of parish life, small groups or new comer incorporation, a primary area with missions being secondary, or pastoral care. Managing and mentoring programs and people (paid staff and volunteers), finding and training new leaders, will be part of this role.
