Deeply devoted to their understanding of Benedictine spirituality, and take adult formation quite seriously

Though budget looks small, they have significant financial resources

Challenges

43 year rector retired last year. His impact and presence is still strongly felt, though he moved out of state. The congregation did not have an interim rector and the next priest will have interim tasks as the initial primary work. Helping the people of St. Paul explore their identity apart from the former rector will be a large initial task.

Congregation presents as having little desire to grow or change, but rather sees itself as preserving the pre-Constantinian Remnant faith. Those who wish to join them in that self-understanding are most welcome.

Comments

Riverside is a near suburban community, located 11 miles west of Chicago's loop.
St. Paul's is a very distinct type of church community This quote from the OTM captures St. Paul's self-understanding:
"St. Paul's is committed to our Catholic, Benedictine and Anglican charism and in remaining centered in the Eucharist, upholding orthodox theology, faith and practice. And maintaining our educational programs at all levels. We are a pre-Constantinian Remnant Church"
