Strengths

Multi-ethnic urban parish with rich diversity of race, culture and language.  St. John’s hosts both a Spanish-speaking and French/Hatian-Creole-speaking congregation.  Celebrating 275 years of ministry in Stamford, St. John’s has a rich history of involvement in Stamford and support of social outreach.  St. John’s developed its property in 1987 and is financially sustained from the ground rent of a 14-story multi-use building on its land.  Beautiful Neo-Gothic 1891 sanctuary and recently remodeled parish hall with state of the art audio-visual equipment and wi-fi throughout the building.

Challenges

Loss of membership, changing demographics, attracting millennials and sustaining parish leadership
