St. John’s is a beautiful historic church founded by Aaron Chew in 1789. We are a family
oriented community welcoming all to join us in worship and fellowship. Our parishioners
are dedicated in guiding the Church to maintain stability. Multiple fellowship events held
throughout the year bring the congregation together. Our church school is well attended
and our Holy Communion program has been adopted by other parishes and is recognized
by the Diocese. We have a strong music program and adult choir. Our children’s choir
participates during special events and services.

Our challenges are growing our parish and assimilating new members into the congregation; improving stewardship development and identifying gifts for ministry. We look forward to working with a Rector who can help us address discipleship training to spread the good news of Christ. Our unique challenge we face is how to balance the historical nature of the church
building and modern parish hall to contemporary needs.

St. John’s is a small and spirited parish that has sustained our ministry during periods of
growth and decline. We enjoy a friendly caring Church community sharing in fellowship
and outreach programs throughout the year. We look forward to working with an
enthusiastic Rector who will join our family and help us continue to grow in God’s vision
for St. John’s. Please visit our website and review our Community
Ministry Portfolio and Online Profile under Rector Search.
