Statement regarding hopes for future clergy partnership:

Attributes most important:

Strong pastoral and preaching skills with a sense of joy and hopeful outlook. Good listening/communication skills, ability to foster and nurture change, willingness to embrace diversity. Leadership and guidance drawing us into our spiritual journeys and assistance in shaping new ways to serve God; someone more interested in the souls of all persons than being a structured administrator. Encouraging, non-judgmental, with an ability to mediate when parish internal disputes arise. Courage to challenge us to push boundaries; ability to discern and energy to stimulate individual strengths (or identify weaknesses) and to nourish growth; abilities to collaborate and delegate.

Attributes desirable:

Acknowledge our ideas, help shape them, and help us sustain projects once initiated with vision and enthusiasm. Patience, sensitivity; sensitivity to the importance of music for many within our parish. Being comfortable within the larger community to interact with people outside our church context to help make our presence known and our invitation clear. Recognition that people’s lives, and how they live them, matters.
