St. Augustine's recently moved into a beautiful space on the DC Waterfront, a growing, bustling, commercial area of the Washington, DC. The parish has the potential for growth, as this is a hub for young adult, and middle-aged adult entertainment. The parish is close to many government agencies, so the opportunities for evangellism are endless. The parish itself was courageous to undergo this building transformation and is excited about their possibilities in ministry. The parish has a Sunday morning breakfast for homeless persons and anyone who wants to come by to enjoy this warm and delicious welcome.
Parish membership is now quite small, and how to connect with the bustling community surrounding their beautiful, new space has been a challenge. In addition, the parish is facing financial challenges.
