The congregation is made up of a cross section of individuals reflective of the community at large.  It is an intelligent, creative, energetic group that seeks to deepen their faith.  The church has an excellent traditional music program, several opportunities for adult formation (including a dynamic Sunday Forum), and substantive youth formation programs of Godly Play and J2A with committed leaders.  Outreach opportunities abound (ranging from feeding to advocacy).  Recently there is a concerted effort toward interfaith dialogue (especially with the local mosque and support for two Syrian refugee families).  The outreach ministries of St. Andrew's are also a significant way that people connect and support one another within the parish.  The contemporary language liturgies have a "relaxed formality" about them and there is significant lay participation.  Eucharistic Visitors take Communion to the home bound on a regular basis.

  • Building/Property (the biggest challenge is that no building on campus will accommodate the entire congregation at one time. While well maintained and situated in a picturesque, historic district, the buildings and parking lot restrict further growth. When all is said and done, the buildings win.
  • Deepen understanding and practice of Christian Stewardship
  • There is a current need to encourage parental support of ongoing youth programming.
  • Healing old wounds/divisions and rebuilding trust and transparency (These areas are being addressed and it will take time and a steady hand to continue this work).

This parish is primed to "take off" with an energetic, a pastorally sensitive, collaborative priest that has the ability to marshal the incredible gifts of this congregation.
