Strengths

From position description:

Pohick Episcopal Church, a joyful, warm, and vibrant program-size church in Northern Virginia, is searching for an ordained Episcopal priest with a passion for evangelism, young adult/family ministry, and Christian formation. Ideally the Assistant will have at least two years of experience in a parish setting. Ordained seminary graduates demonstrating strong gifts in these areas may also be considered. Considered a “flagship” church in the Diocese of Virginia, the current Pohick Church was completed in 1774. (The original church building dated to 1732). The seat of Truro Parish, Pohick was the home church of the George Washington, George Mason and George Fairfax families, among other colonial leaders.  Located a few miles from both Mount Vernon and Gunston Hall, we celebrate our historic roots and emphasize our contemporary, creative leadership and programs. With 550 members and an ASA of 240, Pohick is a welcoming and healthy faith community balanced in contemplation and action. Hallmarks of our communal life include prayer, hospitality, fellowship, outreach, Christian Formation for all ages, a large and active EYC, worship/music, and pastoral care (Community of Hope). For more information, see our website at www.pohick.org, and our FB page, “Pohick Episcopal Church.”
