Strengths

We are a dynamic, inclusive place of worship with over 1000 parishioners.  Our financial stability allows us to provide many meaningful programs within our church and make a powerful, positive impact in the greater Nashua community.

Parishioners take their involvement in our church seriously as demonstrated by high levels of participation in many ministries.  In addition to Christian Education for children, we have five educational programs for adults.  We have eight different fellowship groups and are proud to be participating in fifteen various Community Action Ministries.

We are a thriving, loving, spiritual community.  Our parish motto is "Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here."

Challenges

While not unique to CGS, an area we are continuing to monitor is the attendance level among our youth in Christian Education programs.  Our paid staff include a Sunday School Coordinator and a Youth Ministry leader.  Our children are involved in many aspects of church life and we strive to continue increasing their involvement at CGS.

Another issue we are currently addressing is the decision regarding which outside organizations we support and to what extent, in terms of our commitment of tithing 10%.

Our congregation founded an organization in 1987, the Nashua Pastoral Care Center, to support single women and their children.  It has blossomed into a flourishing 501c3 organization that has change its name to The Front Door Agency, and is now housed in its own offices in Nashua.  The FDA is a part of us and while we want to continue supporting them, we have decided to consider new outreach ideas for the future.  This decision has been made after several visioning sessions were convened to discuss this change.  You can read more about this on our website under the Rector Search page, OTM questions.
