We at Christ Church are extremely proud and grateful for our strong leadership from clergy, vestry, music and hand bell directors, commission members, teachers, office staff volunteers and parishioners. We are indeed fortunate to have active parishioners who have always been willing to jump right in to assist with any project, program or special situation. This type of “can do” attitude has led to many successful programs, such as Godly Play, The Lord’s Kitchen and community outreach, just to name a few.
Additionally, we are excited about the increasing number of youthful parishioners who have taken up active roles in our church. They have responded in earnest by assisting with Godly Play, participating in our Youth Programs, serving as acolytes and aiding with nursery care.
We pride ourselves on offering a friendly and welcoming environment to all of God’s children and we are guided by our inherent ability to forgive and not be judgmental.
We are committed by our baptism and led by the Trinity to do God’s mission in the world!
Nearly all parishes in all denominations are facing ever increasing financial stress and shrinking membership. We at Christ Church Stratford have the added responsibility of caring for 150+ year old buildings. Our greatest challenge will be the change in going from a full-time priest to ¾ time. We will work together with the new clergy to develop a clear and fair model for the priest’s duties since this is our first time calling someone less than full time. We are proud of our efforts to engage these difficulties and we recognize that this work will require continued vigilance.
Christ Church has a great sense of responsibility. The parish takes great pride in our worship, fellow parishioners, building and community. Volunteers always are available to do projects or help anyone in need. We are a loving worshiping community at Christ Church and continue to bond together for the greater good. This parish has much to offer regardless of your talents and interests. It is a great place for anyone in the breadth of God’s creation-this parish welcomes and cherishes you.
We adhere to the Episcopal Church in Connecticut compensation guidelines, which can be found in the Treasurers' Newsletter here.
