Strengths

Cohesive and enthusiastic congregation that can be diverse in political view points.  But there is a real sense of church family.  Blessed with exquisitely beautiful worship space, parish hall, rectory and graveyard.  Strong lay leadership is present.

Challenges

We want our next priest to be strongly involved in connecting our congregation to the local community.  We are a mature congregation, and we need to expand our membership to include people of all generations, so that we become known in the Dorchester County area as a place where God is experienced and celebrated.

We need to maintain strong lay-leadership.  We expect that this will be done by constantly looking for and nurturing new leadership in the congregation.

Comments

The membership of Christ Church is enthusiastically awaiting the arrival of their new priest, confident that the Holy Spirit is alive in us and in our new priest.

This will be a 4-year Priest-in-Charge position.  At about 3 and half years into the arrangement, the priest and Vestry will enter into a Mutual Ministry Reflection process with the specific goal of determining whether or not to continue the relationship.  This will give both the priest and the congregation a chance to update search documents, if necessary.
