Located on a main thoroughfare. Large facility and good kitchen with opportunities for increased use. Full gymnasium that does get used by community groups. Recent major updates to buildings. College in town. Reasonable endowment. They enjoy being together. Building Christian Ed program for children. Have had 12+ baptisms in the last few years.
Have never really engaged in developing a clear vision and mission. History of health issues with clergy. Need to move from being a social club to increased spirituality and community involvement.
Bishop wants to make a long term Priest-in-Charge appointment, with possibility for move into rector position. What's needed--to bring some stability and settledness after several years of uncertainty due to rector's severe illness. After a period of stability, to help them with a process of visioning and goal setting. Who are we and what might God be calling us to do?
