Parishioners are active, proud of their lay ministries and their abilities to keep the parish “running” well in this time of transition. They are prayer-centered, outreach-oriented, and open to new ideas. They had an excellent relationship with their former rector who was called to be full-time rector in a parish closer to her home, and they enjoy an excellent relationship with the diocesan office.
The town is halfway between Richmond and Raleigh and near Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake. People who live in the town work in both Richmond and Raleigh.
As in many parishes, the parishioners are getting older. The parish is in a small rural town, which was once a thriving tobacco market.
This is a lovely, warm community; a beautiful facility. A great opportunity.
The Rev. Canon Charles Robinson
