Christ the King is on the southern end of the Virginia Peninsula in York County. It is between and convenient to the cities of Newport News, Hampton, and near historic Williamsburg and Yorktown. The unincorporated residential community of Tabb is near a NASA facility and convenient to military bases. The parish is a steady and generally healthy community. They have had an excellent interim period and have examined their parish life in detail. Given the location, the opportunity for expanded mission and growth is excellent.
The parish numbers have been steady, but not growing in recent years. They continue to have significant trepidation about finances. A major challenge is to find the particular mission focus that will draw from the healthy communities that surround them.
They are very close to making a call, but it is not yet final.
