Emmanuel Franklin has recently said farewell to a much beloved rector of 27 years. They are a community dedicated to one another. They have an excellent interim and a very strong consultant team that is helping them with moving forward.
The recently departed rector was completely dedicated to the life of this parish. Consequently, they have become accustomed to his doing most of the tasks within the parish. One significant challenge is for the gathered community to find patterns for parish life that are not strictly priest-centered. They are aware of this and working diligently on it. Additionally, the City of Franklin and the parish community have faced significant economic and natural setbacks in recent years. Both are still trying to adjust to new realities. While this is a challenge, there is strength of resolve present, as well.
