Trinity Indy is seeking an energetic priest to share in leadership of a vital urban parish of about 350 households, and its partner day school of 360 students. The Associate Rector will have primary responsibility for adult formation and newcomer incorporation at the Parish and will serve as Chaplain to the School.
Trinity Episcopal Church, founded first in 1919 as Church of the Advent in the heart of midtown Indianapolis, is a diverse and dynamic church with a passion for outreach, music and liturgy as well as an engaged heart for justice. St. Richard’s School was founded in 1960 on the model of English day schools and was among the first racially integrated private schools in Indianapolis. These separate institutions share facilities and select staff. Both are in exciting periods of new leadership and healthy collaboration, in the Diocese of Indianapolis and Central and Southern Indiana—itself in an exciting time of episcopal transition as well.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Rector, staff, school personnel, students and parishioners are essential to this position. We seek a colleague who is warm, generous, flexible, curious and humorous, with a passion for Jesus Christ, experience with diverse populations and strong liturgical and pedagogical skills.
